How Do MindGear and CES Ultra Work?

4 min read

At Caputron, we take great pride in providing state-of-the-art Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES) solutions. These include main devices in addition to a complete suite of accessories. CES devices sold by us online are FDA cleared for the treatment of debilitating conditions including anxiety and insomnia. Recently the guidelines have changed, and these devices are no longer cleared for the treatment of depression.

Two CES devices, MindGear and the CES Ultra starter kit remain our most popular options. While customers based in the United States must obtain authorization from a healthcare practitioner in order to purchase, international shoppers don’t need to worry about this. With that said, no matter where you are, here are some important points on how both MindGear and the CES Ultra systems work.

mindGear

The mindGear system is a completely medication-free solution with no safety risks. It is designed to deliver low-intensity energy to targeted cranial zones, which is regulated to protect the individual receiving the treatment. These specialized waveforms encourage the release of serotonin and acetylcholine – naturally occurring chemicals in the brain – which help the mind and body relax. This is why MindGear systems are highly effective at reducing the symptoms of anxiety and insomnia.

mindGear is sold as a kit and includes the following:
  • The main mindGear CES device
  • A pack of four HydroPod self-adhesive electrodes
  • A two-pack of mindGear ear clip electrodes
  • A half-ounce water bottle for wetting ear clips
  • A pin lead wire (compatible with both electrode types)
  • A 9-volt battery

This particular device is battery powered and portable, so setting up a treatment anywhere is relatively easy. The handheld component is connected to wired adhesive electrodes, which are placed on the head. Alternatively, the wearer can use optional ear clip electrodes.

To use mindGear, complete the following steps:
  1. Position the electrodes on the temple or earlobes, depending on the configuration you choose. For the former, avoid the hairline.
  2. Select the duration of the treatment time, with 15 minutes usually being enough for most individuals to experience optimal treatment.
  3. Activate the mindGear system with the press of a single button and let the session run its course. You may adjust the intensity as needed to ensure optimal comfort and relaxation.

CES Ultra Starter Kit

The CES Ultra system is similar in design to the MindGear model, designed as a drug-free, FDA-cleared means of treating anxiety and insomnia. It has been widely used in both pediatric and geriatric applications and is non-addictive, making it much safer to use with no side effects. CES Ultra is also the only such unit with unique technologies and configurations included in over 100 scientific studies – including the Meta-Analysis study by the Harvard School of Public Health. We at Caputron sell this device as part of a starter kit, ensuring you have everything you need to experience its benefits. Included are the following:

  • The CES Ultra system iteself
  • Two lead wires
  • Pre-gelled adhesive electrodes
  • Pair of zero-resistant ear clips
  • A half-ounce water bottle for wetting ear clips
  • A padded hard-shell carrying case and instruction manual

The CES Ultra operates at a frequency of 100 Hz, or 100 pulses per second. Each pulse duration is for two milliseconds, ensuring a stable yet highly effective current. It’s an ideal choice for addressing pent-up stress, relaxing the mind and body without addictive prescription drug use. The main device regulates and controls the electrical current as it is stimulated, acting as a failsafe to protect you and ensure peace of mind – literally!
