Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is a form of non-invase neurostimulation that delivers a constant low level current to the brain through the use of electrodes placed on the scalp. This neuromodulation technique uses a steady current between 1 - 2 mA delivered through electrodes to targeted regions of the brain to modulate brain function. Using different electrode configurations, tDCS can be used to either excite or inhibit neuronal activity in the targeted region.
Headquartered in New York City, Caputron is the leading worldwide distributor of home, clinical and research neurostimulation technology, such as tDCS, TMS, CES and EEG. By partnering with world-class device manufacturers, we supply a range of excellent neurostimulation devices and accessories, such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES) and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS).
Super Specific's 12V model has now been redesigned! This anything but basic analog stimulator runs on a 12V A23 battery and delivers continuously variable regulated and limited Direct Current. The 12 volt design allows this device to overcome the natural resistance associated with more complicated montages that other 9V tDCS devices are just not capable of performing.
The most popular and best selling model has now been redesigned! This anything but basic analog stimulator runs on a 12V battery and delivers continuously variable regulated and limited Direct Current. The 12-24 selectable voltage design allows the user to set the desired output voltage of the device. The maximum current output on this device is less than 2.15 mA.
Super Specific SV (selectable voltage) Devices are unlike any other devices on the market. The Selectable Voltage option allows users too easily and safely choose the voltage that is right for the particular montage they are going to use. If you are doing a simple montage like DARPA the 9V option might be all you need, but for more complicated montages involving placements on your hair or on your arm etc. 9V is not going to be enough. The SSD SV devices solve this dilemma by alloying you to switch to 12V or 24V whenever you want.
All Super Specific Devices have Continuously Variable Current so that via the Current Control Knob the user is able to adjust the level of the current being delivered in real time. One great advantage of this is that you can select any current level you want between 0.2mA to 2.2mA. Another advantage is that it allows the user to 'ramp up' smoothly to the desired target current level thus avoiding phosphenes and that uncomfortable and strange 'vertigo' feeling that may occur when the full target current is delivered all at once (which is the case with some of the other devices out there).

I purchased this device directly from the company. It has exactly what I wanted: an analog device with a real live meter (you should want that too!) and a dial so I can fine tune current level in real-time. Unlike the ApeX device, it is small enough to fit in a hand, which I greatly appreciate. It also has a really cool retro look to it, and allows the ability to switch between 12 and 24 V. I was concerned at first because of negative reviews concerning the electrode design (sponge on top of carbon rubber), but as it turns out, they work just as well in my opinion and are MUCH easier to use and clean than the square sponge on wire mesh designs. While I also like the ApeX, all-in-all, I prefer the SSD for it's portability, ease of use, and cool retro appearance. The cables are much better than the banana clips as well. This is the one I recommend most!
The TDSC device has really been a great complement to my creativity and work out put. about six months after purchasing the device it stopped working for some reason. I got very busy and The next thing I knew was that the warranty date had long past. customer service was very understanding my situation and extended the warranty. I highly recommend this device
It gets the job done but its not the best device in the world. It has no timer so you need to set a stop watch to remind you when the session ends but it does put out a DC current.
Great little stimulator, shell looks 3D printed.
Came with some loose rattling inside. Turns out the box is 3d printed and a tiny piece broke off. No problem otherwise, works just fine.
The ssd burnt me when I was trying to use it, then never worked again, how is this garbage being sold.
