Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) is a form of non-invase neurostimulation that delivers a constant low level current to the brain through the use of electrodes placed on the scalp. This neuromodulation technique uses a steady current between 1 - 2 mA delivered through electrodes to targeted regions of the brain to modulate brain function. Using different electrode configurations, tDCS can be used to either excite or inhibit neuronal activity in the targeted region.
Headquartered in New York City, Caputron is the leading worldwide distributor of home, clinical and research neurostimulation technology, such as tDCS, TMS, CES and EEG. By partnering with world-class device manufacturers, we supply a range of excellent neurostimulation devices and accessories, such as Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS), Cranial Electrotherapy Stimulation (CES) and Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS).
Focus Go Flow is a hand-held battery-powered easy to use tDCS brain stimulator. The device utilizes a microprocessor controlled circuit to provide an accurately regulated current. Unlike other commericially available 9 Volt devices, the Go Flow features a voltage step up circuit that provides a max voltage of 25V. The ensures the ability to provide up to 2mA of current with any traditional tDCS montage. The Go Flow also features a built in timer. Simply set the session length you want and let Go Flow do the rest. The microcontroller will provide a smooth ramp up and ramp down of current, a feature that is overlooked by other devices but extremely important for tDCS. The backlit duration and intensityindicators provide for a quick and easy method to read your specified settings. Caputron, the trusted leader in neuromodulation distribution, is proud to provide the Focus Go Flow tDCS device.
Now Available with choice of Headband or Sports Cap
Go Flow is an extremly easy to use portable tDCS device.
When turned on, the device will default to your last used intensity and duration settings. Slide the knob up and down during the stimulation to adjust the intensity setting to a comfortable level. Once started, the device LED indicator will alternate every 5 seconds between intensity and duration to let you know how much time is remaining in your session. When the set time is reached and the session is over, the Go Flow will automatically ramp down the current. If for any reason you need to stop stimulation, simply click in the slider knob and the Go Flow will safely ramp down the intensity.
How to check Go Flow battery levelYou can check the approximate charge of a battery by pressing and holding the button. The green lights will show a value between full (all lights) and 15% (one light) with 15% intervals for each lit light. If the lights do not illuminate when Go Flow is connected to a battery, the battery has no charge.
Is it possible to change the current during an active tDCS sessionYes, use the rocker switch to increase or decrease the current. During active sessions it is possible to use half increments i.e. 0.125mA. Each increase or decrease will be applied at a rate of 0.1mA per second. The gauge will switch to orange lights when changes to the active current are being made. You can press the rocker button at any time to STOP the stimulation at which point the current will ramp back down to 0.
What do the flashing lights meanFlashing green and orange - No electrodes connected. Connect electrodes and start again. Flashing orange - Resistance in electrodes too high and cannot reach 0.5mA. Check electrodes setup and start again. No lights = dead battery. Start again with a new, fully charged 9v battery.
I have not been able to use it because I could not understand how to put it together and use it. I emailed Caputron and asked for help, but no one bothered to get back to me. VERY disappointed.
Used it did not see a difference
It never worked. $100 wasted.
When it comes to mental health treatments, I have never had a “one-size-fits-all” technique. ECT has always been the most beneficial strategy, but I need methods for when I am not in the ECT clinic; Thus, tACS and tDCS are techniques that I have been trying. The Focus Go Flow Pro has been a good choice, not only because it’s comfortable, but because of its convenience in size, making the treatment safe and, I continue to hope, effective. The flow will always go, and it doesn’t always have to seem like flooding.
I purchased two Foc.us go flow devices and found both flimsy. While Foc.us was impolite in the responses and never did anything to remedy the fact that two of their devices fell apart quickly Caputron was great in reaching out long past the purchase date to ensure a positive experience with them. While I am more than happy to keep shopping with Caputron I will absolutely avoid the foc.us brand and pay close attention to the helpful reviews by ither customers. Its better to spend a little more money on other products Caputron carries than with the go flow. Stay away from the Foc.us products and spend a little more money on other devices Caputron carries.
